Mr. Entwistle, is it true that you became the CEO of TELUS in the year 2000?
Is it true that you kicked off your new leadership era in that year with a Sales Conference in Banff? Is it true that a TELUS employee named Jeff Morris attended that conference and was demoted after complaining about some of the inappropriate material presented in that conference?
Is it true that TELUS Communications recently filed a copyright claim on TELUS Idol and had it taken off You Tube? Does this mean that TELUS Communications now accepts legal liability for the contents of that training video? Were you present during that seminar? Were you not dancing on stage while Jill Schnar sang Skater boy for you while she was lying at your feet?
Is it not true that you were also dancing on stage for the finally of TELUS Idol? As CEO of TELUS how can you not personally claim legal liability for the contents of that training video when you were present the entire time, had it recorded and approved the editing of it for redistribution? Isnt it true that Jeff Morris who was not present at that seminar ordered a copy of it after the fact through TELUS?
Is it true that before working as CEO of TELUS you were with Cable and Wireless for the UK and Ireland? Is it true that that a class action suit was launched against that company for allegedly giving false and misleading information to the market from Aug 6 1999 to December 6 2002? Is it true that although the allegations of false and misleading information continued after you had left the company, didnt they start when you were in charge? Both you and that company were completely cleared of any wrong doing in that matter, is that correct? Can you please explain why then, the company would spend 7 million dollars in an out of court settlement if you and they were innocent?
Is it true that although BC Tel had been without a labour dispute for many years, the company was without a collective agreement for five years after you came to become CEO? Is it true that you tried to bypass the free collective bargaining process and pressure individual employees to ratify your imposed contract without the Union? Is it true that you held secret meetings with various members of the bargaining unit pressuring them to ratify that imposed contract without the Union? Is it true that you gave free ipods to people who crossed the picketline in Alberta? Is it true that Madame Pineau found you guilty of misconduct and that you appealed that decision?
Is it true that you censored the Internet to all those who subscribe to the Internet through TELUS and blocked an employee web site called Voices for Change that spoke out in favor of free collective bargaining? Is it true that you used many of these private conversations against those employees in the form of formal discipline? Can you explain how Canada Post got a copy of my private postings in that private forum to use against me in my arbitration at Canada Post?
Is it true that you told your employees and the general public that TELUS purchase of offshore call centres would not affect their job security? Can you explain how all those employees who have been laid off and had their jobs moved out of province have not been affected by contracting out in times of record profits? Is it true that you told your employees and the public that the use of off shore call centres during the labour dispute was just a temporary measure and would be brought back after the dispute? You didnt say for how long now did you?
Is it true that your intent was and is to move a substantial amount of Canadian jobs off shore to save on wages in times of record profits with no regard to customer service and through attrition, eliminate many Canadian jobs? What kind of affect will that have on the Canadian economy? How much would the Canadian government lose in taxes if you succeed in your agenda? Is that a concern to you? The goal of creating an income trust after all was to evade paying taxes was it not? Customer service and paying taxes are not your concerns are they Mr. Entwistle? Is it true your only concern is the value of a paper stock? Is it true that you told shareholders in New York during the labour dispute that this new contract would give TELUS the flexibility to use and acquire off shore call centres, which would greatly increase profits? Was this not a reason shareholders bought stock in TELUS? Is this not the reason that after you finally achieved your imposed contract through manipulation a mail in ballot that violated the Union's constitution, you went from $6.5 million a year to $14 million the following year? Congratulations Mr. Entwistle, your employees were right. There will only be a skeleton left when you are finished to remind the world of a once proud and fruitful time. No wonder you had that true song banned from You Tube. Congratulations indeed.
