Gordon Campbell was originally elected campaigning against what he referred to as the gold plated pension. After closing Riverview and devastating the poor, elderly and disabled, he brings the very pension he campaigned against back after his second term in office. Carol James of the BC NDP denounced the greedy move, then her party adapted it. Then in the face of public outrage, they waffled and struck a committee to study the proposal waisting more money.

Days after denouncing it again they come full circle and endorse it with the bizarre rationalization that they will donate the first two years of the 29% pay hike to charity. The obscene pay hike was a smoke screen for the gold plated pension. Carol James might be sincere but it sure doesn't seem like her party is. Herein we once again see the true definition of politics emerge while the rich get richer and the poorer get poorer..
