TELUS Censorship follows a pattern
The Future is not very friendly at all
It's interesting to note that right after TELUS went on a censorship campaign to get this news report about them lying about off shore call centres taken off you tube on a fraudulent copyright claim, they then gave notice to the Union that they would be increasing the use of their off shore call centres.
George Doubt, president of the TWU went on CKNW to inform the public of the security risks of off shore call centres. TELUS' response was that they were using them because of the labour shortage in Canada. They just couldn't fill the positions here. That was a lie. George Doubt pointed out that TELUS had recently closed many offices. Those employees would love to have their job back.
Now, just before Christmas 2007, we receive more proof TELUS was lying: As of Feb. 29 2008, the Calgary call centre will be closed. Some work has been sent to the bc offices, some has been sent to COS, and some to Manila. Those employees want their jobs. TELUS is exporting those jobs which clearly affects the Canadian Economy. This news came right after they tried to shut down our facebook group and tried to shut down my web site on bogus copyright claims with the sole intent of continuing the censorship machine.
Hide the facts, then accuse the people of telling the truth of defamation. TELUS seems to go on a censorship campaign right before it sends more work overseas. Please note at the TELUS Labour day rally in 2005 the man who is speaking in this video clip points out that TELUS made $1 billion in profit the two years previous to the labour dispute over contracting out. He was outraged that they gave the CEO, Darren Entwistle, a 60% raise to $6.5 million a year right before the lockout. However, after Entwistle broke the contract and started sending Canadian jobs overseas TELUS gave him a 100%raise. He received $14 million the following year.
The problem with Corporate greed is that profits are never enough. They always need more profit and they have no regard for anything or anyone who is adversely affected. This is where Canada falls and our freedom is sold out to Corporate greed. Buyer beware. Supply and demand can bring that work back.
